Over 80 contestants from countries and regions worldwide are expected to participate in the Miss Grand International 2017 which will be held in Vietnam later this year, according to the organizer.

The beauty contest, themed "Ending war and violence", will take place on Oct. 5-26 in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, central Quang Binh province and Phu Quoc Island of southern Kien Giang province, local Nhan Dan (People) newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Quang Binh was selected to be the place where the national costume competition will be held, while Phu Quoc Island will host the swimsuit contest and the finale, said the organizer in a recent press conference in Vietnamese capital Hanoi.

Contestants will also attend sideline events, including visiting and supporting children who are victims of the war, and other charity activities to call for donations. Endit
