Cuban FM visits Spain, first since 2008

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy welcomed Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla in Madrid on Monday.

Parrilla's was the first visit to Spain by a Cuban foreign minister since 2008, when Parrilla's predecessor Felipe Perez Roque visited then Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

During the meeting, Rajoy and Parrilla discussed bilateral relations and also relations between Cuba and the European Union in the wake of the signing of the EU and Cuban Political Dialogue and Cooperation agreement in December 2016.

After the meeting, Parrilla had an audience with King Felipe VI of Spain at the Palacio de la Zarzuela which was also attended by Spanish Foreign Minister Alfonso Dastis. Endit
