Visiting U.S. Vice President Mike Pence said Monday that "an era of strategic patience is over" on the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Pence arrived in South Korea on Sunday as part of his 10-day trip to Asia. Earlier in the day, he visited a U.S. base near the Demilitarized Zone dividing the two Koreas. He will leave for Japan on Tuesday.(S. Korea-U.S. VP visit)

ISLAMABAD -- The United States National Security Adviser Herbert McMaster arrived in Pakistan on Monday for talks on regional security and bilateral matters, local media reported.

McMaster is the first senior U.S. official of the Trump's administration to visit Pakistan. The visit came after his talks with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in Kabul.(Pakistan-U.S. adviser)

SEOUL -- Former South Korean President Park Geun-hye was indicted by prosecutors Monday on multiple corruption charges, while Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin was prosecuted for bribery charge.
