At least nine people were injured in a train-crash accident on Saturday in Vienna, police told media, no death was reported.

Two trains crashed in Vienna Meidling station, one of the main train station of the city, in the afternoon. A witness told local media that the accident took place in the station when both trains collided head on head in a low speed.

At least nine were injured in the collision, but the drivers of the two trains were not injured. Some of the passengers have been sent to hospital in Vienna, while many of others got out of the train themselves. No death has been reported till now.

There was no passenger in the regional train involved in the collision, while around one hundred people were in the other train heading to another city called Villach, in the south of Austria.

A spokesperson with the Austrian Federal Railways said the accident might be caused by technical problem, but the investigation is needed.

An investigation into the causes is underway, but the conclusion is supposed to be unveiled next week.

In January 2013, dozens of people were injured, including five seriously injured, in a head-on collision between two commuter trains in the Austrian capital Vienna. Enditem
