Undercover Israeli force detained by Palestinian police

Members of an elite undercover Israeli military force have been detained by the Palestinian police in the West Bank, a military spokesperson confirmed on Saturday.

According to the spokesperson, troops with the Duvdevan Unit were exposed in the Palestinian city of Nablus.

The soldiers were arrested by the Palestinian police, which were later transferred to the office of the Israeli Coordinator of the Government Activity in the Territories (COGAT.)

The spokesperson added that the soldiers were taken for questioning, to investigate how the special force was exposed.

The Duvdevan soldiers are trained to dress and behave as Palestinians in order to infiltrate Palestinian streets and arrest protestors. Endit
