The following are news items in South Africa's major news outlets on Saturday:

-- Bus services across the country could return to normal on Saturday after some trade unions reached a wage agreement with bus companies.

Three unions, including South African Transport and Allied Workers Union, on Friday settled on a 9-percent increase over a one-year period and a 1.5-percent hike for overtime.(Eyewitness News)

-- Labor Minister Mildred Oliphant announced on Friday afternoon that the bus strike is now over as the majority of unions reached an agreement.

Oliphant said she was pleased that three unions have signed agreement, including the SA Transport and Allied Workers Union (SATAWU) and two others. (Fin24)

--The Bus Employers Association on Friday appealed to all unions, especially The National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA), to respect the 9-percent wage increase agreement that ended the three-day bus strike.
