Business confidence in Albanian economy sees further improvement in Q1

The Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) in Albanian economy continued an upward trend in the first quarter of 2017, surging to its highest level since 2006, Bank of Albania said in its latest report on Friday.

According to the central bank here, such improvement came as the business confidence business increased in all sectors of the economy in the first quarter.

The confidence indicator in the Albanian industry sector registered a positive performance compared to the same period of the previous year, increasing by 4.3 percent.

The confidence indicator in services sector recorded the highest growth of 10.1 percent during this period.

The confidence indicator in the construction sector (CCI) continued to grow in the first quarter of 2017, standing at 5.9 percent, Central Bank data showed.

Even the business confidence indicator recovered in the trade sector after a fall in the last quarter of 2016, standing at 2 percent.

Meanwhile, the bank said that the Consumer Confidence Indicator (CCI) fell by 0.4 percentage point in Q1. However, data showed that CCI was about 2.1 percentage points higher than its historical average. Endit
