The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- Revenue authorities in Zambia and Zimbabwe have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance their operations and increase revenue collection for the two countries.

Kingsley Chanda, the commissioner general of the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) signed on behalf of Zambia while his Zimbabwean counterpart Kingsley Chanda signed on behalf of his country. The agreement will cover mutual interests which will include capacity building, cooperation on domestic taxes, investigations and transit control. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The Zambian government has welcomed Angola and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) request for a total of 120,000 tonnes of maize on account that the country has enough maize stocks.

Food Reserve Agency (FRA), a government agency that keeps maize in reserves, said the country would still be food secure even after exporting to the two countries because it has enough maize. (Daily Nation)

-- The United States government says it remains concerned over heightened political tension in Zambia following the arrest of the country's leading opposition leader.
