Sweden on Wednesday announced resumption of its support for Sudan and implementation of development program worth 134 million U.S. dollars.

Sudan's foreign ministry official Mohammed Issa Edam on Wednesday held talks with Swedish ambassador to Sudan Hans Henric.

"An agreement has been reached to implement a program for development cooperation between the two countries during 2017-2022 worth 134 million dollars," said Sudan's foreign ministry in a statement.

Sudan and Sweden have also agreed on future programs including exchanging of visits at the ministerial and private sector levels and organizing the Sudanese-Swedish economic forum in Sweden.

The statement further commended the recent progressive development of ties between the two countries, and the results achieved by the meeting of the joint political consultation committee, which was held in Stockholm in November last year. Endit
