The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Tuesday.

-- The Zambian government has commenced works on the construction of provincial television stations aimed at enhancing citizens' access to information.

Minister of Information and Broadcasting Kampamba Mulenga said the government has already started construction of provincial television stations because it wanted all citizens to participate in the governance of the country. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- The proposed increase in electricity tariffs will force companies to downsize on their workforce in order to cope with increased costs, the Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) has said.

The union said the proposed 75 percent hike in electricity tariffs by the country's power utility was not good for the future of the country because it will result in massive job losses. (Daily Nation)

-- Zambian should not withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) to protect its citizens from any possible atrocities, a group of African organizations has said.
