Police uncover 8 bodies in SUV in S. Mexico

Xinhua, April 11, 2017 Adjust font size:

Police in southern Mexico discovered the bodies of eight men stuffed inside an SUV abandoned near the Mexico-Acapulco Highway, local media reported on Monday.

The grisly find capped a particularly violent weekend in the drug-ridden southern state of Guerrero -- where the seaside resort of Acapulco is located -- including the separate killings of a former state deputy, Roger Arellano; a 13-year-old, and four customers in a gunfight at a bar in Ixtapa, a beach resort farther north.

The bodies, which showed signs of having been tortured and asphyxiated, were discovered late Sunday night in Chilpancingo, Guerrero's capital.

The victims were aged 25 to 35, according to state officials. Enditem
