Eleven people were killed and 35 others were injured in a suicide bombing near a Coptic church in Egypt's Alexandria governorate, Egyptian Ministry of Health said Sunday.

The ministry said in a press release that the suicide attack near Saint Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral Church in Alexandria has so far killed 11 people and injured 35 others.

State-run MENA news agency reported that a police officer was killed in the attack when he attempted to stop the suicide attacker in front of the church. (Egypt-Bombing)

CAIRO -- The Islamic State (IS) group claimed responsibility for Sunday's bombings of two churches in Egypt's Tanta and Alexandria that left at least 38 dead and over 100 wounded, the IS said on its so-called "Amaq" news website on Sunday.

The bomb attack earlier on Sunday on Mar Girgis Church of Tanta city in Gharbiya left at least 25 dead and 78 injured, while the following suicide bombing at Saint Mark's Church of Alexandria coastal city killed 13 and wounded 42, according to the Health Ministry. (Egypt-Bombings-IS)

JAKARTA -- Five people were buried as a landslide took place in Nganjuk district of East Java province in Indonesia on Sunday, an official of the disaster agency said.

The landslide occurred at 14:00 p.m. Jakarta time in Kepel village when all the victims were having activities at rice fields and plantations located at the slope of a hill, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the national disaster agency told Xinhua via phone. (Indonesia-Landslide)
