After rain and fog delayed practice running at the Shanghai International Circuit on Friday, Ferrari managed to blow away its competitors in the final practice session at the Shanghai Audi International Circuit here on Saturday.
Sebastian Vettel logged a fastest lap of 1:33.336, with teammate Kimi Raikkonen just 0.053 seconds behind him at 1:33.389.
Mercedes could not keep pace with the Ferraris, with Valteri Bottas clocking in at 0.371 behind Raikkonen. Lewis Hamilton came in fourth, 0.172 adrift of his Mercedes teammate.
Perhaps the most disappointing result of the practice run came for McLaren-Honda, with Fernando Alonso coming in 2.576 off the pace.
Weather conditions improved marginally at the circuit on Saturday, with organizers saying they have arranged for ground transportation for any necessary driver evacuation if the medical helicopter is unable to fly. Formula One regulations stipulate that no races can run if a medical helicopter is unable to take off and land. Endite
