CAS hands lifetime bans to Russian athletics coaches

Russian athletics coaches Alexey Melnikov and Vladimir Kazarin were given life-time bans for doping, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) announced on Friday.
Both national team coach Melnikov and Kazarin, training short, middle and long-distance runners, were sanctioned with lifetime bans starting on April 7 2017.
In the meantime, the CAS handed race walker Stanislav an eight-year ban after the athlete was found guilty of a second anti-doping offence.
Middle distance runner Ekaterina Poistogova, who came third in the 800m at London Olympics, has been sanctioned with a two-year period of ineligibility starting on August 24 2015, said the CAS. Endit
