UN condemns violent attack in Sweden

Xinhua, April 7, 2017 Adjust font size:

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Friday condemned a violent attack that took place in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.

Earlier on Friday, a truck rammed into people on a central Stockholm street before crashing into a department store, killing three people and injuring eight others.

"Our sympathy goes to the families of the victims and all those affected and he wishes the injured a prompt recovery," said a statement released by Guterres' spokesperson.

"The United Nations stands in solidarity with the people and Government of Sweden," said the statement. "We hope that those responsible for the attack will be swiftly brought to justice." Endit
