Xinhua summary of Asia-Pacific stocks news at 1100 GMT, April 7

Chinese stocks continued to rise Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closing at a 15-month high thanks to boosted market sentiment over Xiongan New Area, a new economic zone to be built near Beijing.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 0.17 percent to close at 3,286.62 points. The smaller Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.12 percent higher at 10,669.48 points.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market closed on Friday up 0.75 percent compared to the previous trading day.
The Lao Securities Exchange composite index increased by 8.18 points to reach 1,081.70 points after closing.

SEOUL -- Seoul shares ended almost unchanged on Friday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) inched down 1.02 points, or 0.05 percent, to settle at 2,151.73. Trading volume stood at 389 million shares worth 3.84 trillion won (3.38 billion U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed down 6.42 points, or 0.03 percent to 24,267.30 points on Friday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 23,982.40 and 24,268.39. Turnover totaled 88.804 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 11.423 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed higher Friday as prices for crude oil rose, although gains were capped by geopolitical concerns following a U.S. airstrike on Syria and ahead of key U.S. jobs data due out later in the day.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 67.57 points, or 0.36 percent, from Thursday to close the day at 18,664.63.

HANOI -- Stock market index of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, HNX-Index, closed at 90.15 points on Friday, down 0.56 points or 0.61 percent against the previous trading session.
Prices of 81 stocks went up; 89 stocks fell down, while 95 stocks remained unchanged.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 727.95 points on Friday, up 4.73 points, or 0.65 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.
A total of 113.022 million shares worth 2.822 trillion VND (126.49 million U.S. dollars) were traded on Friday.

SINGAPORE -- Singapore stocks finished higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 1.68 points, or 0.05 percent, to close at 3,177.27.
A total of 3.22 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.25 billion Singapore dollars (893 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 271 to 205.
