British stocks drop 0.39 pct Thursday

British shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 0.39 percent, or 28.48 points, to close at 7,303.20 points.

British airlines easyJet advanced 4.23 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips.

British Land, one of the country's largest property development and investment companies, rose 2.25 percent. Housebuilding company Persimmon plc gained 2.14 percent.

Biopharmaceutical company Shire lost 1.91 percent. Multinational pharmaceutical firm GlaxoSmithKline dropped 1.77 percent. Pearson, an international publishing group, also lost 1.77 percent. Endit
