French shares gain 0.58 pct Thursday

French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.58 percent, or 29.59 points, to close at 5,121.44 points.

A total of 29 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

Luxury holding group Kering advanced 2.03 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Commercial property investor Unibail-Rodamco rose 1.74 percent. Oil and gas firm Technipfmc gained 1.6 percent.

French car manufacturer Peugeot went down by 1.71 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Building material manufacturer LafargeHolcim lost 0.83 percent. Steel giant ArcelorMittal edged down 0.73 percent. Endit
