ST. PETERSBURG, Russia -- An explosive device was found and defused Thursday in a residential building in southeastern St. Petersburg and several suspects have been detained, a local official said.

DAMASCUS -- Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moallem said Thursday that the Syrian airstrike on the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun struck a rebel depot containing chemical materials, denying that the air force fired toxic gas during the attack.
In a press conference held to comment on the international accusation to Syria of allegedly firing toxic gas on Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib Province on Tuesday, al-Moallem said the news reports are "lies." (Syria-Deny-Chemical)

HARARE -- At least 17 people died after a South Africa-bound bus collided head-on with a haulage truck -- with both vehicles catching fire -- about 220 km from Harare on the Masvingo Road on Wednesday night.
