Top news items in major Ethiopian media outlets

The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

--Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, who arrived in Addis Ababa Tuesday for a working visit, have held discussion on bilateral and continental issues. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--Ethiopia's inflation rose to at 8.5 percent year-on-year in March from 7 percent the previous month, the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) has said.

Food inflation rose to 9.6 percent in March from 7.8 percent a month earlier, CSA said on Tuesday. Non-food inflation, on the other hand, rose to 7.3 percent in March from 6.2 percent, the Agency said. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)

--Germany, through its Economic Cooperation and Development Minister, Gerd Muller, expressed commitment to continue to support the drought response efforts in Ethiopia.

The German delegation led by the Minister had a field visit to drought affected parts of the country to observe response mechanisms that are being implemented. The delegation appreciated the comprehensive efforts and work of the country to mitigate the drought. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA) Endit
