Spain's unemployment falls by 48,559 people in March

The number of people registered as unemployed in Spain fell by 48,559 people from February to March, according to data published on Tuesday by the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security.

After this fall, the total figure of unemployed people stood at 3.7 million, falling by 392,453 people in March on a year-on-year basis.

According to the ministry, the total number of unemployed men fell by 31,016 from February to March to a total of 1.61 million while the number of unemployed women fell by 17,543 to a total of 2.09 million.

Regarding sectors, unemployment fell by 39,933 people in the services sector since February, also falling in the construction sector by 8,830 and by 5,659 people in the industry sector. On the other hand, it rose by 1,382 people in the agriculture sector.

Spain was hit by the financial crisis which caused a high unemployment rate during the years of recession with a total number of unemployed people that reached more than 6 million in 2013. Endit
