Lao runners eye medals at regional sport events

Two Lao male runners and one female runner are confident of winning medals at the 79th Singapore Open scheduled to be held at the end of this month.

Anousone Xaysa will compete in the men's 110 meter hurdles and 100 meters, while Kingkeo Inthavong will compete in the men's 400 meter hurdles and 400 meters.

Silina Pha-aphay will compete in the women's 100 meters and 200 meters. The three athletes are currently under training at in Lao capital Vientiane, reported Lao daily Vientiane Times on Tuesday.

Athletics teams from more than 10 countries and regions are expected to attend the 79th Singapore Open Track and Field Championships 2017 slated for April 27-28.

After returning from the Singapore Open, the three runners will continue to train in preparation for the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia this August. Endit
