Ireland to hold two auctions of long-term bonds in second quarter

Xinhua, April 3, 2017 Adjust font size:

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) said on Monday it will hold two auctions of long-term bonds in the second quarter of this year.

In a statement, the NTMA said the two bond auctions will be held on April 12 and June 8.

In Ireland, the NTMA is responsible for borrowing on behalf of the government and managing the national debt.

In the first quarter of this year, the agency held two bond auctions on Feb. 9 and March 9.

The agency has already raised 5.25 billion euros of its planned 9-13 billion euro issuance of long-term debt this year.

The NTMA also said it will hold an auction of short-term treasury bills on June 15.

The auctions are all subject to market conditions, according to the NTMA. (1 euro = 1.07 U.S. dollars) Endit
