The primary of South Korea's main opposition Minjoo Party to select an official presidential candidate ended Monday with a sweeping victory by Moon Jae-in, frontrunner in opinion polls and former head of the biggest party.

Moon has garnered a cumulative 57.0 percent of ballots in the four rounds of primaries, including Monday's gain of 60.4 percent in the Seoul and metropolitan areas, over the past eight days across the country. (South Korea-Moon Jae-in)

TOKYO -- Japan's education ministry has approved recently a new version of education guidelines, which includes for the first time jukendo, or "way of the bayonet" in the physical education curriculum for middle school students, sparking condemnation from the public.

The guidelines, expected to be implemented in fiscal 2021 for middle schools, suggest that schools should provide students with martial art lessons such as judo, kendo and jukendo so as to give students better access to so-called traditional Japanese culture. (Japan-Education guidelines)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia has carried out massive connectivity infrastructure projects in 10 new destinations designated to attract foreign visitors so as to meet with government targets in tourism sector which has been set as the nation's new core industry.

Those projects were intended to support the works of Tourism ministry in assuring the access, comfort and safety for visitors visiting the new destinations developed across the country, an official at transportation ministry said. (Indonesia-Tourism)

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- At least six paramilitary troopers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and a 10-year-old girl were wounded Monday in a militant attack in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
