Host Indonesia seeks 20,000 volunteers for 18th Asiad

Host Indonesia is looking for about 20,000 volunteers for the 18th Asian Games next year, the organizing committee said here Friday.

The number of volunteer for each sport is being calculated by the committee, said Harry Warga Negara, the committee secretary.

"The enthusiasm of the people, particularly university students, to be volunteer for the Asian Games is high," he said.

Over 11,000 athletes and officials from 45 countries and regions would participate in the Asian Games from Aug. 18 to Sept. 2, he said.

The 18th Asian Games will be held in two Indonesia's big cities, including the country' s capital of Jakarta and Palembang city, the provincial capital of South Sumatra. Endite
