UK deports 23 Nigerians over immigration offenses

Xinhua, March 31, 2017 Adjust font size:

The United Kingdom has deported 23 Nigerians over alleged immigration-related offenses, police in Lagos, Nigeria's economic hub, said on Friday.

The all-male deportees arrived in the west African country early Friday and were received by Nigerian officials at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Joseph Alabi, a police spokesman told Xinhua.

He said the deported Nigerians were profiled by immigration authorities which also arranged for their transportation to their respective states of origin or residence.

Late February, the authorities in Italy deported 33 Nigerians and followed up with the deportation of 37 more Nigerians early this month for committing the same offense. Endit
