At least five people were killed and 25 others injured when a blast hit a market area in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of Parachinar Friday morning, local Urdu media reported.

The blast took place at Noor Market area in Parachinar in Kurram Agency which borders Afghanistan, the ARY News said.

The injured people have been shifted to nearby hospitals where a state of emergency has been declared.

Around 15 nearby shops were also damaged in the blast. Security forces have rushed to the blast site and cordoned it off.

No group has claimed the attack yet. Endit
