Australian authorities have issued warnings for people in affected areas not to enter flood waters on Friday, after a. 1.5-meter bull shark was found washed up in the aftermath of cyclone Debbie.
Residents in the far north Queensland town of Burdekin were shocked to see the deadly creature in a puddle on the road.
Queensland Fire and Emergency services have used the incident to urge people not to enter flood water, as debris and dangerous materials can be lurking underneath the surface that cannot be seen.
In this case, it seems the message is being heard loud and clear in the quiet rural community.
However local journalist Philip Calder reported to have seen "a couple of locals who came over with a knife and souvenired a tooth from it."
Evacuations in Southern Queensland and Northern New South Wales were continuing as conditions worsened in the region. Endit
