Macedonia becomes official exporter of beef to EU markets

Xinhua, March 29, 2017 Adjust font size:

Macedonian meat processing companies and slaughterhouses can export beef to the European Union (EU) members and third countries since March 7, Macedonian Food and Veterinary Agency Director Zoran Popovski announced in a press statement Wednesday.

According to Popovski, the decision meant a chance for fresh domestic and foreign investments in the sector.

Meanwhile, as of January 28, Macedonia has been also included in the list of exporters of eggs, poultry, poultry meat and fish to the EU markets and transit of such products to third countries.

"This is a great opportunity for our companies to distribute their products, but also helps the development of the entire beef meat and poultry sector," said Popovski. Endit
