China responds to WTO report on EU poultry tariff quota dispute

Xinhua, March 29, 2017 Adjust font size:

The Ministry of Commerce has released its response to a World Trade Organization (WTO) report on an EU poultry tariff dispute.

China welcomes the expert panel's support for China's core request of the consultation, which affirms that the EU duck meat tariff quota has broken WTO rules, the ministry said in an online statement.

China regrets, however, that the expert panel did not support China's proposal on the chicken meat tariff quota.

China has urged the EU to respect the WTO ruling, quickly rectify the duck meat tariff quota and build a fair international trade environment.
