"Kong: Skull of Island" tops Chinese box office

American blockbuster "Kong: Skull Island" saw 500 million yuan (72.6 million U.S. dollars) in earnings for the week ending March 26, the clear box office winner for the week, China Film News reported Tuesday.

Disney's live-action remake of "Beauty and the Beast" landed in second place for the week, taking in 195 million yuan. It has grossed 506 million yuan since its release on March 17.

Hollywood comedy "A Dog's Purpose" placed third, with sales revenue of 60 million yuan.

Chinese domestic comedy "Top Funny Comedian" came in fourth, generating 49 million yuan.

Rounding out the top five was "Logan," which grossed 27 million yuan. Endit
