Over 1.1 mln people affected by natural disasters in February: ministry

Natural disasters affected 1.15 million people in China in February, the Ministry of Civil Affairs said Tuesday.

Natural disasters led to economic losses worth 480 million yuan (69.4 million U.S. dollars) and over 100 people were relocated, the ministry said.

In February natural disasters included freezing weather, snowstorms and drought, as well as earthquakes, landslides, and forest fires.

Over 2,000 houses were damaged and 76,300 hectares of crops affected.
