Iran beats Malaysia in AFC Beach Soccer Championship

Iran trashed Malaysia 14-0 in its 2017 AFC Beach Soccer Championship campaign opener in Kuala Terengganu on Sunday, Tasnim news agency reported.

The result also saw Malaysia slip to a second successive defeat following the host's 5-3 loss at the hand of Afghanistan in its opening Group A match on Saturday.

Iran will face Afghanistan and China on Monday and Tuesday respectively in Group A.

The top three finishers at the AFC Beach Soccer Championship will represent Asia at the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in Nassau, Bahamas from April 27 to May 7. Endit
