The following are news items in South African major news outlets on Sunday.

-- The African National Congress is in a quandary after President Jacob Zuma voiced his support of the growing call for land to be expropriated without compensation - without securing the party's mandate to change existing policy.

This follows a motion in Parliament this week, brought by the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to speed up land reform by amending the Constitution's property clause.(City Press)

-- A coalition representing more than 10 civil bodies marched to Parliament on Saturday to protest against the recent attacks on foreign nationals in Gauteng.

Around 100 people from the Africa Solidarity network, the Cape Town Housing Assembly, Gender Sonke Justice, Unifam and others marched to Parliament to express their support for both legal and illegal immigrants who have been attacked. (News24)
