Macao's gaming revenue rises 17.8 pct in February

Xinhua, March 4, 2017 Adjust font size:

The revenue of Macao's gaming industry registered a significant rise of 17.8 percent to 22.99 billion patacas (about 2.88 billion U.S. dollars) in February, the special administrative region's gaming industry watchdog said on Saturday.

Macao's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau said in a report that February's figure is the 7th monthly rebound in gaming revenue since August 2016.

It is also the highest one recorded in two years.

The accumulated revenue in 2017 reached 42.25 billion patacas (about 5.29 billion dollars), also 10.6 percent higher than that in February 2016. The trend of monthly accumulated revenue has gradually improved from minus 21.4 in January 2016 to 3.1 in January 2017.

Macao's monthly gaming revenue registered a 1.1-percent year-on-year rise in August 2016, revering a 26-month slump of the industry. Since then the year-on-year monthly revenue has recorded growth. Endit
