JSE closes weaker on Friday

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) closed the week weaker on Friday.

The JSE all share was 0.36 percent lower at 51,708.61 points and the blue-chip top 40 lost 0.45 percent.

Platinum metals led the stock losses on the JSE by dropping 2.39 percent followed by Gold mining down 2.26 percent, and resources down 1.15 percent.

Among diversified miners, Anglo American lost the most, down 2.12 percent to R203.37.

Rand hedge stocks were also weaker, British American Tobacco lost 1. 42 percent to R816.19.

Harmony Gold Mines led the losses among big miners, giving up 6.47 percent to R30.07. AngloGold lost 3.28 percent to R136.8.

MTN was off 1.96 percent at R124.27. Endit
