Xinhua, March 2, 2017 Adjust font size:

The 2017 FINA World Diving Series will kick off its new competition season in Beijing's national aquatic center the "Water Cube" from March 3 to 5.

The Beijing stop, the first stop of the series this year, will attract 70 divers from 15 countries and regions.

The Chinese diving team will send Rio Olympic champions Chen Aisen, Shi Tingmao, Ren Xi and Cao Yuan to take part in the season opener.

Britain's world champion Thomas Daley, Russian diving star Illa Zakharov, and Canada's Jennifer Abel will be arch rivals for the Chinese divers in Beijing.

Apart from the Olympic events, the Beijing Series will add mixed 10m platform synchronized and mixed 3m springboard synchronized events.

The FINA Diving World Series is a high-profile competition which offers an annual meeting opportunity for the world's brightest diving stars. This event invites internationally recognised divers, mostly medallists from previous Olympics, World Championships and World Cups. Endit
