BiH confirms second bird flu case within month

Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) has confirmed a case of H5N8 bird flu in a zoo in its capital city, local media reported on Wednesday.

This is the second bird flu case confirmed in BiH in less than a month. BiH reported its first case of bird flu in the northwestern town of Prijedor last month.

The Joint Center for Disease Control will continue the coordination of activities to implement the prescribed measures in accordance with the legislation in force, stated the BiH Veterinary Office.

Cases of bird flu have been found in a number of countries across Europe in the past months, including in neighboring Croatia and Macedonia. Endite
