Singapore stocks close 0.84 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 26.16 points, or 0.84 percent, to close at 3,122.77.

A total of 2.25 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.49 billion Singapore dollars (1.06 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 236 to 225.

The STI index fell 12.01 points, or 0.39 percent, to close at 3,096.61 on Tuesday. Enditem
