Finnish Minister of Education and Culture, Sanni Grahn-Laasonen, visited Tallinn on Tuesday to discuss cultural and educational cooperation between Finland and Estonia, local media reported.

Estonian Culture Minister Indrek Saar's meeting with Grahn-Laasonen focused on culture funding, as well plans for marking the centenary of the two countries' independence and the 80th anniversary of the Estonian-Finnish cultural cooperation agreement, representatives of the Finnish embassy in Tallinn said.

The accord with Finland is Estonia's oldest international cultural cooperation agreement still valid today. Both countries are planning to celebrate the anniversary of its signing later this year.

While discussing the performance of the Estonia-Finland cultural foundation, which was established in 2015, Saar and Grahn-Laasonen recognized the foundation's role as a good and necessary tool for cooperation. Endit
