The following are news highlights in South African major media outlets on Monday.

-- The South African Communist Party (SACP) said on Sunday that calls for Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan to be fired are "factional palace politics".

"We do not like this thing, as ministers, of being shouted at from the streets to be removed," said SACP General Secretary Blade Nzimande.(News24)

-- The South African Revernue Service (SARS) cannot be made a political football, said former finance minister Trevor Manuel as tensions reach boiling point between Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and SARS head Tom Moyane.
