An alleged terrorist exploded a bomb near a village administration office before exchanging gunfire with anti-terror squad in West Java on Monday, provincial police chief Anton Charlian said.

"Now we are carrying out negotiation, asking the alleged militant to surrender, but he burned the building," the police chief was quoted by the Metro TV as saying on the scene.

"We have followed the movement of the man, who is a member of a terrorist group," he added.

Charlian ordered the squad to capture the alleged militant alive.

He said the bomb was of low explosive. Endit
