Ukraine's Elina Svitolina upset top seed, Germany's Angelique Kerber 6-3, 7-6 (3) Friday to enter the final of the WTA Dubai Open.

Svitolina with meet with Danish Caroline Wozniacki, who beat Anastasija Sevastova of Latvia by 6-3, 6-4 in the other semi-final.

After her 3rd consecutive win over the world's number two Kerber, an exhausted Svitolina said, "It was really tough and also a tricky match because our encounter was at first interrupted by rain."

She added, "To be honest I was mostly focusing on hitting the ball and moving my legs and didn't think too much."

Kerber looked frustrated after the match, leaving the centre court in the DDF stadium quickly.

For Wozniacki, Saturday's match will mark the second final within two calendar weeks. The 22-year-old lost the final at the Qatar open on Doha last Sunday against Dubai's second seed Karolina Pliskova. Endit
