Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk was eliminated from the UEFA Europa League after a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Spanish Celta Vigo late Thursday.

The game played on the Metallist stadium in Kharkov city in eastern Ukraine produced no goals in the first 90 minutes, but Iago Aspas' penalty in the injury time handed the Spanish team a 1-0 lead.

As Shakhtar led 1-0 in the first leg, the extra time was needed to decide on the winner.

On the 108th minute, Gustavo Cabral scored with a powerful header for Celta, giving his team a 2-1 aggregate tally.
