Among two people killed Thursday while jumping from rope swing over the fall in Vietnam's Central Highlands' Lam Dong province, there is one Polish tourist, said the provincial department of culture, sports and tourism.
The ill-fated included the 33-year-old foreign tourist and a 24-year-old Vietnamese tour guide named Nguyen Quoc Khanh, reported Vietnam's state-run news agency VNA.
A group of eight foreign tourists and two Vietnamese tour guides under Giac Mo Vang (Golden Dream) company joined a sightseeing tour in Lam Dong province's Hang Cop fall earlier Thursday.
During the rope swing over the fall, at around 10:00 a.m. local time (0300 GMT), the Polish tourist and Khanh were dead.
The accident happened in the main waterfall of 50-meter-high Hang Cop Fall Tourist Resort with numerous dangerous cliffs and rocks, reported VNA.
As soon as learning the news, Lam Dong search and rescue forces reached the site and searched for the victims. At 15:00 local time (0800 GMT), two bodies were found and brought out of the site.
According to Lam Dong department of culture, sports and tourism, the company has not registered for adventure tourism program while it is not allowed to receive and guide international tourists.
Two Vietnamese tour guides including the one dead are not in the list of tour guides registered with the department and have not been granted tour guide cards.
Relevant agencies are investigating to verify the cause of the accident, said VNA. Enditem
