Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has said recently in his meeting with a high-level Chinese delegation that his country expects to have pragmatic and comprehensive cooperation with China.

Duterte, also chairman of the Philippine ruling PDP-Laban party, made the remarks in his meeting with visiting Chinese delegation led by Song Tao, minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Monday.

Duterte said that the Philippines expects to enhance pragmatic bilateral cooperation with China in all fields, and that his party is willing to enhance communications between the Philippine ruling party and the CPC to deepen mutual trust.

For his part, Song said China and the Philippines are good neighbors, and China is ready to implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries in their meeting last October in Beijing.

He said that the CPC is ready to strengthen communications between the ruling parties of the two countries to build political trust so as to push the bilateral relationship to a new high. Endit
