Int'l agricultural forum kicks off in Bulgaria

Xinhua, February 23, 2017 Adjust font size:

The third edition of the international mega forum for agriculture, wine and food industry kicked off in the International Fair in Plovdiv on Wednesday.

More than 700 exhibitors from 33 countries and regions are participating in the event, which includes six exhibitions related to agriculture, viticulture and enology, beekeeping, food industry, and equipment for hotels, restaurants, cafeterias and commercial facilities.

Chinese company Wuhan Gime Food Machinery, which manufactures grain and cereal processing machineries and color sorting equipment, is one of the exhibitors at the event that runs until Sunday.

Bulgaria's Minister of Agriculture and Food Hristo Bozukov said at the opening ceremony that farmers increasingly wanted to implement the newest agricultural technologies in order to become more competitive and expand their development horizons.

Therefore, the interest in such forums has been growing, Bozukov said.

Ivan Sokolov, board chairman of International Fair Plovdiv, said that 25 percent of exhibitors participated for the first time.

This massive presence of new participants was a clear indication of significant changes in the business, Sokolov said. Endit
