Xinhua, February 22, 2017 Adjust font size:

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Olympic Committees of Iran and Kazakhstan to further expand cooperation in various sports fields, Press TV reported on Wednesday.

The President of National Olympic Committee of Iran, Kioumars Hashemi, and his Kazakh counterpart Timur Kulibayev signed the agreement during a ceremony on the sidelines of the 69th Executive Board Meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in the northern Japanese city of Sapporo on Tuesday.

The MoU calls for all-out efforts from Iranian and Kazakh authorities to cement sportive relations between the two neighboring countries. It also demands the exchange of sports delegations, experts and trainers.

The accord further asks for the participation of Iranian and Kazakh sports teams in the two countries' international tournaments, and organization of joint training camps.

Additionally, the Iranian and Kazakh Olympic committees agreed to exchange information in the fields of sports, sports medicine and anti-doping programs. Endit
