2 Vietnamese provinces report bird flu outbreaks

Vietnams southern Bac Lieu province and central Quang Ngai province have recently faced bird flu outbreaks among fowls, the countrys Animal Health Department said on Monday.

In Bac Lieu, the H5N1 bird flu outbreak in Vinh Phu Dong commune, Phuoc Long district has killed or sickened over 1,100 chicken. Relevant local agencies have culled nearly 2,800 chicken.

In Quang Ngai, the H5N6 bird flu broke out in Pho Cuong commune, Duc Pho district, killing or leading to the culling of 2,800 fowls.

According to the department, Vietnam is facing high risks of bird flu spread in the coming time. Endit
