Six in ten Greeks rejected the Grexit scenario and further austerity measures alike, the latest opinion poll conducted across Greece showed on Sunday.
The 58.8 percent of respondents in the survey carried out by MRB polling firm for STAR TV last week (February 13-15) said that Greece should stay in the euro zone, while 38.1 percent preferred returning to a national currency.
At the same time, the 54.8 percent of Greeks, according to the poll, called on the government to reject any new painful measures wich the country's international creditors are requesting, "even if that means a rift that may lead to Grexit and return to drachma."
The 32.2 percent of respondents said the government should accept the lenders' request for additional measures in order to close the pending bailout review.
The conflicting results were released as Greece seeks a solution during Monday's euro group meeting in Brussels to conclude the second assessment of the third Greek bailout program. Endit
